Bogra
Bogura is an industrial and commercial city of North Bengal in the Rajshahi Division. It is called the gateway of North Bengal. The area of Bogra city is 1.5 sq km which consists of 20 wards. Bogura city has an international standard cricket stadium called Shahid Chandu. The city of Bogura is situated on the coil of the Karatoya river. The Kartoa river flows from north to south and divides Bogra into two. Gaibandha and Joypurhat districts are bounded on the north by Naogaon district on the west, Sirajganj district on the south and Jamuna river on the east.
Archaeologically famous “Mahasthangarh” which is a sacred place for all Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists. There are also dwellings of Behula Lakshmindar, Gokul Meer, Vasu Bihar, Yogi Bhavan, E Vihar, Bhim Jungle, Kherua Mosque, Sherpur. There is a “Nawab Palace” in Bogra town which was known as Nilkoothi in the British period.
